Iran: Security Forces Reportedly Suffer Heavy Losses in Isfahan

Isfahan, Iran – Thirty members of Iranian security forces and police have reportedly been killed in the province of Isfahan amid ongoing protests, according to state television reports.

The Iranian state broadcaster cited sources indicating the deaths occurred during the recent unrest. Separately, the commander of Iran’s special police forces confirmed the deaths of eight officers during what he described as “riots” on Thursday and Friday of last week.

Adding to the reported casualties, the Iranian Red Crescent stated that one of its members was killed during an attack on relief buildings in the northern city of Gorgan.

Despite these reports, Iran’s Interior Minister has asserted that the “riots are gradually subsiding.” However, details remain scarce due to widespread internet disruptions across the country.

The protests, now in their fifteenth consecutive day, are reportedly driven by public discontent over the country’s economic conditions. The internet blackout has severely limited the flow of information, making independent verification of events on the ground extremely difficult.

DZWatch continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as they become available.
