The seventh edition of the International Waste Recovery and Valorization Exhibition (REVAD) kicks off tomorrow at the Pine Maritime Exhibition Palace in Algiers, under the theme “Transforming Waste Management into Business Opportunities”.International Waste Valorization Exhibition Algeria
Organized by the National Waste Agency in collaboration with the Algerian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the exhibition, running until November 30th, will bring together various public and private national institutions involved in waste management, as well as different state-mobilized bodies for technical support and investment financing in this sector, alongside foreign participants.
This edition aims to shift towards the principle of waste valorization, capitalizing on the economic value estimated at 207 billion DZD annually, according to the 2023 National Waste Information System data. Notably, Algeria’s recycling rate currently does not exceed 10%.
Alongside the exhibition, a study day will be organized next Wednesday, featuring a diverse program of lectures and sessions on investment and sustainable entrepreneurship in the green economy. This event will also facilitate discussions between startups, idea carriers, experts, and project financiers.
Simultaneously, a new version of the “Industrial Waste Exchange” online platform will be launched. This platform serves as a technical aid for emerging enterprises in the Algerian market and facilitates industrial companies in directing their waste towards valorization, the statement added.
