Coalition Military Leader Arrives in Aden

A senior military leader from the Saudi-led coalition supporting the legitimate government in Yemen has arrived in Aden, marking the first such visit since the government regained control of the strategic port city. The announcement was made by the Homeland Shield Forces, affiliated with the Yemeni government.

Falah al-Shahrani, an advisor to the commander of the joint forces, arrived in Aden accompanied by a high-level delegation. According to a statement released by the Homeland Shield Forces, the visit is part of ongoing coordination efforts led by the joint forces with direct support from the Kingdom. The purpose of the visit is to oversee a number of organizational and field arrangements and to enhance the level of coordination between the various entities.

Earlier, the Homeland Shield Forces released footage showing the deployment of new units from the Second Brigade of the First Division in Aden. This deployment aims to bolster security and stability in the city. The Homeland Shield Forces recently extended their control to the governorates of Hadramaut and al-Mahra following the withdrawal of forces loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC).

The arrival of the coalition leader underscores the commitment to stability in Aden, a key city in the ongoing conflict. The visit comes at a sensitive time, following the STC’s recent announcement of its self-dissolution. The STC’s decision followed a failed attempt in December to seize control of eastern and southern governorates, part of its broader project to separate southern Yemen from the north. This visit is seen as a sign of continued support for the internationally recognized government.

The developments in Aden are being closely monitored as they could have significant implications for the future of Yemen.
