Blida Police Bust Drug Trafficker, Seize Over 3000 Capsules

Blida, Algeria – In a significant operation targeting drug trafficking, police in Blida have arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized a substantial quantity of psychotropic capsules. The operation, conducted by the Mobile Judicial Police Brigade of Oued El Alleug, resulted in the confiscation of 3030 capsules.

The arrest stems from ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the illegal trade of narcotics and psychotropic substances within the region. Acting on intelligence indicating that a repeat offender was allegedly storing significant amounts of drugs at his family residence for distribution to other dealers, the Mobile Brigade intensified its field investigations.

After identifying the suspect’s location, authorities apprehended him on the main street of Oued El Alleug. Following the acquisition of a search warrant from the Public Prosecutor at the El Affroun Court, police, in collaboration with the National Gendarmerie, surrounded the suspect’s home.

A thorough search of the premises led to the discovery of the 3030 psychotropic capsules, meticulously concealed inside a wooden bed in the living room. The capsules were arranged in 202 strips, each containing 15 capsules, and hidden within a large flour sack.

The suspect has been presented before the Public Prosecutor at the El Affroun Court and will face charges related to the illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances. This successful operation underscores the commitment of Blida police to dismantling drug networks and ensuring public safety.
