Algiers – Algeria’s national electorate has surpassed 24.5 million following the completion of the periodic review of electoral rolls for 2025. The Independent National Elections Authority (ANIE) announced the final results of the review process, which took place between October 20th and November 18th, 2025, after the legal deadlines for administrative objections and judicial appeals had passed.
According to an official statement, the initial number of registered voters before the review stood at 24,315,551. This figure included 23,486,061 voters residing within Algeria and 865,490 Algerian citizens living abroad.
The periodic review resulted in an increase, bringing the total number of registered voters nationwide and abroad to 24,503,060. The breakdown is as follows:
Within Algeria:
- New Registrations: 512,188
- Deletions: 364,431
- Total Registered Voters After Review: 23,633,818
Abroad:
- New Registrations: 37,213
- Deletions: 33,461
- Total Registered Voters Abroad: 869,242
The ANIE expressed its gratitude to the members of the municipal committees responsible for reviewing the electoral lists, as well as the review committees at the diplomatic and consular missions abroad. The authority commended their efforts in ensuring the success of the operation.
Furthermore, the ANIE acknowledged the contributions of various stakeholders involved in awareness campaigns aimed at encouraging young people, students, and citizens to register on the electoral rolls. This initiative seeks to enhance political participation and solidify the democratic process in Algeria.
