Winter Sales 2026: Discounts Launch Across Algeria

Algiers – The Ministry of Internal Trade and Market Regulation has announced the official commencement of the 2026 winter sales season. Starting January 18th, the sales period will extend beyond the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

According to a ministry statement, this decision responds to increased consumer demand during the winter months. The timing also caters to the particularly high demand characteristic of Ramadan and the lead-up to Eid, allowing consumers to benefit from discounts during this period.

The initiative aims to bolster citizens’ purchasing power, enabling them to acquire a variety of goods and products at reduced prices. The Ministry emphasizes the importance of traders adhering to the legal framework governing sales, particularly concerning transparency in pricing and the quality of goods offered.

DZWatch has learned that the Ministry has also stressed that inspection services will continue to monitor compliance with applicable laws. This is to ensure consumer protection and promote fair trade practices throughout the winter sales period. The authorities will be vigilant in addressing any irregularities or violations reported by consumers.

The extended sales period, encompassing both the winter season and the Ramadan/Eid timeframe, is expected to provide significant economic benefits for both consumers and businesses across Algeria. The Ministry encourages consumers to take advantage of the opportunities offered while remaining vigilant about their rights. It also urges traders to uphold ethical business practices and provide accurate information about discounts and product quality.
