Iraq Rejects Use of Territory for Military Actions Against Any Nation

Baghdad, Iraq – Iraq has firmly stated its refusal to allow its territory, airspace, or territorial waters to be used as a launchpad for military actions against any nation. This declaration comes amidst escalating regional tensions and concerns over potential military intervention.

Sabah al-Nu’man, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, issued a statement emphasizing Iraq’s unwavering stance. “In light of the rapid regional developments and the accompanying escalation and threats that affect the security and stability of the region, the Republic of Iraq affirms its firm and principled position of rejecting the use of its lands, airspace, or territorial waters as a starting point for any military actions targeting any country,” the statement read.

The Iraqi government is urging all parties involved to exercise restraint, prioritize dialogue, and avoid escalation, while working diligently to resolve disputes through peaceful and diplomatic means, according to al-Nu’man.

Furthermore, Iraq is committed to preventing its territory from becoming a staging ground to threaten the security and stability of neighboring countries, or to be drawn into conflicts that do not serve the interests of its people. The nation is fully committed to regional security for all.

These developments follow recent statements regarding regional security and stability. The situation remains fluid, and Iraq’s commitment to neutrality and peaceful resolution is a key factor in navigating these complex dynamics.
