Algiers Governor Orders Facelift for Belouizdad Buildings

The Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abd El Nour Rabhi, conducted a site visit to inspect ongoing development projects and rehabilitation efforts across the capital. The inspection included projects at Sablettes Park and the Hamma Test Garden.

During the visit, the Governor emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards and completing projects within the established deadlines. He began his tour at the overlooking balconies of the Bay of Algiers, adjacent to the Martyr’s Memorial, focusing on pathways and routes. The Governor stressed the need to develop the space according to aesthetic standards that befit the project and meet citizens’ expectations.

These efforts include installing irrigation systems for green spaces, landscaping facilities, installing public and artistic lighting, improving pathways, and connecting the area to various networks. A key directive issued by the Governor focused on the rehabilitation of building facades in the Belouizdad municipality. This initiative aims to enhance the visual appeal of the area.

Furthermore, attention will be given to the external landscaping of historical landmarks, such as Villa Abdellatif and Sarvantas Cave, ensuring the preservation of their historical and architectural character. During the second leg of the visit, Rabhi inspected the rehabilitation work at the Hamma Test Garden, including the zoo. He received a detailed presentation on the progress of the work at the various facilities.

The Governor reiterated the need to accelerate the pace of work, adhere to quality standards, and deliver the projects on schedule. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance the urban landscape and improve the quality of life for residents of Algiers.
