Algiers, Algeria – The Ministry of National Education has announced plans to hold another recruitment competition for teachers, slated for 2026. The announcement was made by the Minister, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, during his supervision of the launch of the first qualifying round of the third edition of the Algerian Mathematics Olympiad at the Omarani Brothers Middle School in Algiers.
Minister Saadaoui stated that this upcoming competition, designated for 2026, will aim to address the ongoing needs within the education sector. He also mentioned the organization of professional examinations for other educational staff positions.
“An additional competition will be organized later under the title of 2026 for the benefit of teachers, in addition to organizing the professional competition for the rest of the educational staff,” Saadaoui said.
The Minister emphasized that the primary goal of the recruitment drive is to “meet the needs of the sector and provide our educational institutions with the necessary competencies.” This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering the quality of education across the nation.
Regarding the recent teacher recruitment competition, which saw participation from over a million candidates, Saadaoui clarified that it targeted the filling of 40,500 teaching positions across the three educational levels. He also reassured applicants that their concerns were being addressed.
“We have accompanied the concerns of those concerned with candidacy through daily follow-up to answer any question,” he stated, emphasizing the ministry’s dedication to transparency and fairness throughout the process.
Saadaoui concluded by stressing the importance of conducting the competition in “an atmosphere of transparency and clarity to ensure fair competition.” This commitment aims to guarantee that the most qualified individuals are selected to shape the future of Algerian education.
