Algiers – In anticipation of the winter season, Naftal has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign aimed at preventing accidents related to the use of butane gas in households across Algeria. The initiative underscores the importance of adhering to safety guidelines when using butane gas appliances to minimize the risk of domestic incidents.
The campaign, themed ‘For a Winter Without Accidents,’ emphasizes several key safety measures. These include ensuring adequate ventilation in areas where gas cylinders are stored and used. Naftal stresses the critical need to regularly inspect hoses and connectors for wear and tear, paying close attention to expiration dates. The company also strongly advises against using unauthorized tools for connecting or disconnecting pressure regulators.
Naftal further highlights the importance of using only certified, original pressure regulators, which are equipped with safety mechanisms designed to mitigate the risk of gas leaks. The public is reminded to avoid opening the cylinder valve until the regulator and hose are properly installed and secured. It is also crucial to keep any potential sources of ignition, such as open flames or heat, away from the gas cylinder during installation and operation.
This proactive campaign comes as demand for heating solutions increases during the colder months. Naftal aims to promote a culture of prevention and instill safe practices related to butane gas usage. By adhering to these preventative measures, families can significantly reduce the risk of preventable accidents and ensure a safer winter season. Naftal urges all citizens to take these precautions seriously.
