Ooredoo Supports Algerian Scouts’ 39th Annual Session

Algiers – Ooredoo Algeria has partnered with the National Council of Algerian Muslim Scouts in organizing its 39th annual ordinary session. The event took place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the International Scout Center in Sidi Fredj.

The session was attended by several prominent figures, including Mustapha Hidaoui, Minister Delegate to the Supreme Council of Youth; Yassine Mehdi Walid, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries; and Meriem Cherfi, National Commissioner for Child Protection. Also present was Abdel Rahman Hamzaoui, General Commander of the Algerian Muslim Scouts, and representatives from Ooredoo.

The high-profile attendance underscores the significant role the scouting movement plays in shaping future generations through historical and educational activities. Hundreds of scouts from across Algeria participated in the session, engaging in training activities that reinforced values of citizenship, solidarity, and personal development.

The 39th annual session provided a platform for dialogue, reflection, and consultation regarding the future priorities of the scouting movement. Discussions focused on balancing continuity with modernization and addressing contemporary societal challenges.

Ooredoo’s partnership with the Algerian Muslim Scouts has yielded numerous impactful initiatives over the years. These include the “Break Your Fast” campaign during Ramadan in 2019, awareness campaigns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and solidarity initiatives for victims of forest fires in 2021 and 2022. Furthermore, Ooredoo supported a distribution of school supplies to underprivileged children and those with special needs at the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.
