Major Drug Bust in Oran Nets Thousands of Ecstasy Pills

Oran, Algeria – A significant quantity of hallucinogenic pills has been seized in Oran following a joint operation between customs officials and the People’s National Army. The operation, conducted by the Mobile Inspection Brigade of the Oran External Customs Divisions, resulted in the confiscation of thousands of illicit substances.

According to a statement released by the General Directorate of Customs, authorities seized 6,358 ecstasy pills and 19 pregabalin 300mg tablets of foreign origin. The operation also led to the seizure of 3,030,000 Algerian dinars in cash and one passenger vehicle.

The successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and maintain security within the region. Law enforcement agencies are committed to disrupting criminal networks and preventing the flow of illegal substances into the country.

As a result of the operation, three individuals were apprehended and subsequently presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Quedil Court in Oran. Legal proceedings are now underway.

This seizure represents a notable success in the fight against drug trafficking in Algeria. Authorities remain vigilant and determined to dismantle criminal enterprises involved in the distribution of narcotics.
