Several regions across Algeria are expected to experience rainfall and snowfall this Sunday, according to a special weather advisory issued by the National Meteorological Office.
The advisory, classified as ‘Orange’ level, specifically targets the eastern part of Tiaret province, as well as Djelfa, M’Sila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, and Bejaia. These areas are forecast to receive rainfall amounts ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters. The advisory remains in effect until 9:00 PM this Sunday.
Snowfall is also anticipated in higher altitude areas. Locations with elevations between 1000 and 1200 meters in Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Laghouat, and Djelfa provinces are predicted to see snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 centimeters. This period of snowfall is expected to last until midday today, Sunday.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and stand ready to provide assistance if needed. Motorists are urged to exercise caution on the roads, particularly in mountainous regions where snowfall is expected.
