Algiers, Algeria – Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djelloul, has emphasized the critical importance of adhering to the established timeline for the Annaba-Blad El Hadba eastern mining railway project. The Minister’s directive came during two working sessions held at the Ministry headquarters on Sunday.
During the sessions, Minister Djelloul underscored the necessity of overcoming any on-site obstacles and mobilizing all available human and material resources to ensure contractual deadlines are met. According to the Minister, construction companies involved in the project have pledged their full commitment to this goal.
The Annaba-Blad El Hadba railway, stretching across 422 kilometers in the Tebessa province, forms a key component of the integrated phosphate project. The meeting included a detailed review of the progress across four major sections of the project. The status of ongoing works was presented, and various related aspects were discussed extensively.
Minister Djelloul reiterated the need to accelerate the pace of construction, ensuring that all necessary human and material resources are allocated to guarantee adherence to contractual timelines. He also instructed officials to work in coordination with local authorities to identify and resolve any on-site obstacles that may arise.
A second session focused specifically on the Bouchgouf-Souk Ahras-Drea section, which spans 121 kilometers. The work plan for this section was presented, evaluated, and analyzed based on the volume of work completed on the ground and the progress rate recorded. The government is keen on seeing this project completed.
