Annaba, Algeria – Civil Defense authorities have recovered the body of a 60-year-old man from the shores of Djenane El Bey beach in Seraidi, Annaba province. The individual, identified as a fisherman, had been reported missing earlier this morning.
According to sources within the Civil Defense, the body was discovered during a search operation launched after reports of a missing amateur fisherman. The search commenced at 8:01 AM local time, focusing on the Djenane El Bey beach area within the municipality of Seraidi and the greater Annaba district.
“We received a distress call early this morning regarding a missing person believed to be fishing in the area,” stated a Civil Defense spokesperson. “Our teams immediately mobilized to conduct a thorough search of the coastline and surrounding waters.”
The Civil Defense deployed significant resources to the search and recovery effort. These resources included a semi-rigid boat, a team of divers, a rescue truck, and an ambulance. The coordinated effort ultimately led to the recovery of the fisherman’s body.
Following the recovery, the body was transported to the morgue at the local hospital for further examination and identification procedures. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fisherman’s disappearance and death.
