Justice Minister Explores Modern Criminal Justice Mechanisms

Algiers, January 19, 2026 – Minister of Justice, Lotfi Boujemaa, today received Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS). The meeting, held at the request of Dr. Al-Bunyan, took place on the sidelines of the scientific symposium on “Criminal Evidence and its Role in Combating Crime and Promoting Criminal Justice.”

The symposium, organized by NAUSS in collaboration with the National Institute of Criminal Evidence and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie Command, is being held from January 19th to 21st.

During the meeting, Minister Boujemaa and Dr. Al-Bunyan reviewed the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and NAUSS. Discussions focused on mechanisms to activate and strengthen this collaboration, particularly concerning the exchange of expertise and institutional training in relevant fields.

NAUSS, the scientific arm of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers under the League of Arab States, is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It specializes in higher education, scientific research, and training in security-related fields. The university serves various agencies affiliated with the ministries of interior, social affairs, labor, justice, and community institutions across the Arab world.

The meeting highlights ongoing efforts to modernize the criminal justice system through international cooperation and knowledge sharing, ensuring the application of contemporary methodologies in crime prevention and judicial processes within the region.
