President Tebboune Prioritizes Agricultural Mechanization

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune presided over a working meeting today dedicated to advancing agricultural mechanization across the country. The meeting resulted in key decisions aimed at boosting agricultural production and supporting farmers.

A central outcome of the meeting was the decision to establish specialized cooperatives. These cooperatives will focus on renting agricultural equipment of all types to farmers. This initiative seeks to enable farmers to expand cultivated land and increase the productivity of national agricultural output. The decision aligns with the resolutions and recommendations stemming from the recent Council of Ministers meeting.

Furthermore, President Tebboune announced the creation of a National Council for Agricultural Mechanization. The council’s mandate will likely involve strategic planning and oversight of mechanization efforts within the agricultural sector.

The meeting was attended by key figures, including the Director of the Presidential Office, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries, the Minister of Industry, and the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion. Also present were representatives from various Algerian companies and institutions involved in the manufacturing and production of agricultural equipment.

These measures signal a significant push towards modernizing Algeria’s agricultural sector, with a focus on empowering farmers and enhancing national food security.
