Algiers, Algeria – Lieutenant General Mustapha Smaili, Commander of the Land Forces, received Brigadier General Andre Rafael Muhungwani, Chief of Staff of the Mozambican Land Forces, at the Land Forces headquarters today. The Mozambican delegation also included the Ambassador of Mozambique to Algeria.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the meeting facilitated bilateral discussions between the two parties. Senior officers from the People’s National Army were present, along with members of the accompanying Mozambican delegation. The talks centered on areas of mutual interest and strategies for enhancing military cooperation between Algeria and Mozambique.
Both sides acknowledged the strong bilateral relations between Algeria and Mozambique, as well as existing consultation and cooperation mechanisms. They emphasized their commitment to further developing these relations to serve the shared interests of both friendly nations.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General Smaili and Brigadier General Muhungwani discussed various topics of interest and common issues, aiming to boost military collaboration between both countries.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of symbolic gifts. Brigadier General Muhungwani then signed the Golden Record of the Land Forces Command.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both Algeria and Mozambique to strengthening their military partnership and promoting regional security.
