Medea, Algeria – The Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Medea has announced the arrest of an individual, identified as (L.M.), suspected of involvement in circulating counterfeit currency and defrauding citizens.
According to authorities, the suspect allegedly offered forged 2000 Algerian Dinar banknotes for sale. The modus operandi involved luring victims to the Houche Mihoub neighborhood in the municipality of Baraki. Once there, the suspect is accused of defrauding and robbing them through various means, including pickpocketing, violent theft, and assault with a bladed weapon.
The National Gendarmerie is urging anyone who may have fallen victim to this individual’s alleged activities to file a complaint or provide testimony. This can be done at the Regional Brigade of the National Gendarmerie in Baata, or at any National Gendarmerie unit across the country.
Citizens are reminded to exercise caution when engaging in financial transactions with unknown individuals and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.
