DZWatch News has received information regarding anticipated heavy snowfall across several regions of Algeria. A level-two orange alert has been issued, warning of significant snowfall in areas with altitudes ranging from 1000 to 1200 meters, commencing this evening.
The alert indicates that higher elevations, specifically those exceeding 1000 to 1100 meters, are expected to receive between 10 and 20 centimeters of snow. This accumulation could lead to hazardous driving conditions, particularly in mountainous areas. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution.
The affected provinces include Tissemsilt, Tiaret, Naama, northern El Bayadh, northern Laghouat, and northern Djelfa. The weather alert remains in effect until midday tomorrow, Wednesday.
A separate alert has also been issued concerning snowfall at elevations above 1200 meters. In these areas, snow accumulation is expected to be between 5 and 10 centimeters, beginning at 9:00 PM tonight and continuing until midday Wednesday.
