Russian Duma Delegation Visits Algeria to Bolster Parliamentary Ties

A delegation from the Russian State Duma arrived in Algiers yesterday for an official visit scheduled from January 19th to 23rd. The visit aims to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Algeria and Russia, according to a statement released by the People’s National Assembly.

The Russian delegation, led by Dmitry Sablin, coordinator of the deputy group responsible for relations with parliaments of the Middle East and North Africa, was received at Houari Boumediene International Airport by members of the Algerian-Russian parliamentary friendship group, headed by its chairman, Abdel Salam Bechagha.

DZWatch has learned that the visit is intended to further enhance cooperation and parliamentary consultations between the two friendly nations. Discussions are expected to focus on a range of issues of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, security matters, and cultural exchange.
