Algiers, January 20, 2026 – The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saioud, received today the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, Dr. Abdul Majeed bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing relations in areas of mutual interest. Discussions centered around exploring new avenues for collaboration in security-related fields and fostering greater understanding between Algeria and Saudi Arabia.
The high-level meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to deepening their strategic partnership in addressing regional security challenges. The discussions also highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing and capacity building in combating transnational crime and terrorism.
The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Algeria attended the meeting, demonstrating the significance that the Kingdom places on this partnership. Also present were the Director-General of National Security and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, further emphasizing the importance of the discussions.
This meeting is expected to pave the way for increased collaboration between Algerian and Saudi Arabian institutions in the areas of security research, training, and development.
