Alleged Online Travel Scam: Man Arrested in Chlef

Authorities in Chlef have apprehended a man suspected of running an online travel scam through social media and online mapping services. The individual, identified as (D.A), was arrested following an investigation by the National Gendarmerie.

According to reports, the suspect managed a TikTok page under the name “TOURISME VOYAGE.” He also maintained a presence on Google Maps under the alias “TRAVEL RAHAF.” Investigators believe he used these platforms to lure victims with fraudulent travel deals.

The National Gendarmerie of Chlef is urging anyone who may have been a victim of this alleged scam to come forward. Individuals are encouraged to file a complaint or provide testimony to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Chlef Court, or to contact the Research and Investigation Department of the National Gendarmerie in Chlef. An investigation is currently underway.

Authorities are taking this case seriously and are committed to ensuring that those responsible for online fraud are brought to justice. This arrest serves as a reminder to be cautious when dealing with online travel agencies and to verify their legitimacy before making any payments.
