Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received a delegation from the Suhail Bahwan Holding Group on Tuesday at the ministry headquarters. The delegation was headed by Sheikh Saad Suhail Bahwan, Chairman of the Board.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines, the meeting was attended by the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to Algeria, Saif Rashid Al-Badai, and the CEO of Sonatrach, Noureddine Daoudi, along with ministry officials.
During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the existing partnership between Sonatrach and the Suhail Bahwan Holding Group. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation and expand investments, particularly in the hydrocarbons and petrochemicals sectors, with a focus on fertilizer production projects such as ammonia and urea.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to explore available investment opportunities in Algeria and to learn about the reforms and facilities, in addition to the new legal and regulatory frameworks approved by Algeria to improve the business climate and encourage foreign investment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their shared desire to strengthen economic cooperation between Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman by supporting the existing partnership between Sonatrach and the Suhail Bahwan Holding Group. This aims to contribute to sustainable development and consolidate economic relations between the two brotherly countries.
This partnership is seen as strategically important for Algeria’s continued growth in the energy sector. Further developments are expected to be announced in the coming months.
