The Algerian delegation was led by Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad. He co-chaired the session with Harry Theocharis, the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Promotion.
The session provided an opportunity to discuss and strengthen cooperation between the two nations across various sectors of mutual interest. Key areas of focus included energy, renewable energy, justice, agriculture, culture, tourism, communication, modern technologies, start-up enterprises, sports, and transport. Discussions also encompassed current international and regional issues, as well as the partnership between Algeria and the European Union, and multilateral cooperation and coordination.
The agreements signed covered diverse fields such as diplomatic training, sports, communication, national archives, and air services. These agreements underscore the mutual desire to foster closer ties and facilitate collaboration in these important areas.
On the sidelines of the Joint Committee session, Secretary of State Chaib held a series of bilateral meetings with members of the Greek government and high-ranking officials. These meetings offered a valuable platform for in-depth consultations and exchange of views on various aspects of cooperation between Algeria and Greece. The discussions aimed to identify new opportunities and further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
