Ministry Outlines Teacher Training Requirements for 2026 Integration

Algiers – The Ministry of National Education has, through its regional directorates, defined the categories of teaching staff required to undergo training both before and after integration by 2026. This initiative aims to bolster professional competencies and administrative practices within educational institutions across the country.

The move underscores the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing educational performance and aligning training programs with institutional development needs, in accordance with national education policies.

Exemptions from Training

Directorates have confirmed that certain employees will be exempt from this year’s training. These include teachers integrated with a Master’s degree in intermediate and primary education (first division), as well as teachers with seven or more years of seniority in the first division. Educational advisors promoted to supervisors in intermediate education and teachers integrated in 2022 holding a Master’s degree in the first division are also exempt.

Furthermore, teachers integrated in 2022 without a Master’s degree, awaiting professional examination and future promotion, and teachers with less than four years of seniority, as stipulated by Law 54/25, are not required to participate in the training program.

Eligible Staff for Training

Conversely, the training program encompasses staff with four to seven years of seniority as of December 31, 2024. This includes educational advisors with seven or more years of seniority who were integrated as supervisors in intermediate education, as well as those with less than seven years of seniority who will be integrated as supervisors. Secondary school supervisors, assistant principals of primary schools integrated as primary school supervisors, and principal and training teachers with four to seven years of seniority are included for integration into the second division or distinguished professor ranks. Teachers who were a few months away from completing seven years of seniority are also eligible.

The targeted group also includes principal advisors in school nutrition and primary education inspectors specializing in school nutrition, in addition to guidance and vocational counselors in intermediate schools.

This comprehensive training initiative is expected to significantly contribute to enhanced efficiency and expertise within the Algerian education sector.
