Algiers, Algeria – The Fatah movement has reaffirmed the special place Algeria holds in the hearts of the Palestinian people, lauding the unwavering positions adopted by the Algerian leadership, government, and people towards the Palestinian cause.
Youssef Abed, Secretary of Fatah in Algeria, emphasized that Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, continues to provide absolute and unconditional support for the Palestinian people’s struggle and their legitimate rights.
Speaking on the matter, the Palestinian Ambassador to Algeria, Fayez Abu Aita, asserted the Palestinian people’s resolve to continue their legitimate struggle until the establishment of an independent state and the restoration of all their national rights.
In a speech delivered during the commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the launch of the Palestinian revolution and the founding of Fatah, Abu Aita stressed that Palestinians will remain committed to their right to a just struggle, guaranteed by international laws and conventions, regardless of the prevailing circumstances.
He noted that this year’s commemoration comes in an exceptionally harsh context, amid ongoing Israeli aggression, the fall of tens of thousands of martyrs, hundreds of thousands of wounded, and the widespread destruction of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, land confiscation, and systematic displacement and repression policies.
The Palestinian Ambassador affirmed that the Fatah movement, which was launched in 1965 from the depths of the Nakba and the suffering of the Palestinian people, succeeded in transforming the Palestinian cause from a narrow humanitarian framework into a comprehensive national political project and contributed centrally to consolidating the Palestinian national identity and strengthening its presence on the international stage.
Secretary of Fatah in Algeria, Youssef Abed, also pointed out that the anniversary comes this year amid complex regional and international transformations, accompanied by serious risks targeting the entire Palestinian national project. He affirmed that this stage requires an open confrontation with the policies of arrogance and aggression pursued by the Zionist entity. The Palestinian people remain steadfast in their pursuit of self-determination.
