Gaza: Hundreds Dead as Ceasefire Violations Mount, Says Government

The Gaza government reported today that the Israeli army has committed approximately 1,300 violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip since it took effect on October 10, 2025. These violations, they claim, have resulted in the deaths of 483 people.

In a press statement released today, the government media office stated that these breaches constitute a “serious and systematic violation of the agreement, a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and a deliberate undermining of the ceasefire and the humanitarian protocol attached to it.” The statement coincides with the 100-day mark since the ceasefire began.

According to the government, the 1,300 violations include 430 instances of gunfire, 66 incursions by military vehicles into residential areas, 604 shelling and targeting incidents, and 200 cases of house demolitions.

The statement further alleges that these violations resulted in the deaths of 483 individuals, including 252 children, women, and the elderly, representing 52% of the total fatalities. They assert that 96% of those killed, or 465 people, were targeted away from the designated “yellow line” within residential areas. The remaining deaths occurred near the “yellow line,” which, according to the agreement, separates areas under Israeli military control (reportedly over 50% of Gaza’s eastern territory) from areas where Palestinians are permitted to move freely to the west.

Furthermore, the government reports that 1,287 people were injured as a result of these violations, with 752 of them being children, women, and the elderly (58%). They claim all injuries occurred away from the yellow line.

The media office also stated that Israeli forces arrested 50 people during the 100-day period, all of whom were detained within residential areas away from the “yellow line.”

Regarding aid, commercial goods, and fuel deliveries, the government reports that only 25,816 trucks reached the Gaza Strip out of the 60,000 that were scheduled to enter during the period. This represents a 43% fulfillment rate. The situation remains tense as both sides assess the implications of these alleged breaches.
