Chief of Staff Shengrifa Concludes Visit to Qatar

General Said Shengrifa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, has concluded his official visit to the State of Qatar. The visit, spanning several days, focused on strengthening bilateral military cooperation and exploring potential partnerships.

During his time in Doha, General Shengrifa participated in the 9th Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026). He toured various exhibition pavilions, gaining firsthand insights into the latest advancements in naval warfare technologies. He received detailed briefings on the showcased equipment and technologies, highlighting innovations in maritime technology from various international manufacturers.

The Chief of Staff, accompanied by his delegation, examined cutting-edge solutions in unmanned aerial vehicles, command and control systems, cybersecurity, weaponry, and armored vehicles. He also held discussions with representatives from international industrial institutions, focusing on exchanging expertise and exploring potential partnerships, particularly in manufacturing, maintenance, and technology transfer.

At the Qatari Ministry of Defense headquarters in Doha, General Shengrifa was received by His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs. The two leaders held a private meeting. General Shengrifa also received a briefing on key landmarks in Doha from the Ministry of Defense. Both sides lauded the level of bilateral military cooperation between Algeria and Qatar, reflecting the mutual understanding and trust that characterizes relations between the two nations.

This visit underscores Algeria’s commitment to modernizing its defense capabilities and fostering strategic partnerships with key allies.
