Algiers, January 22, 2026 – Several provinces across Algeria are bracing for thunderstorms and strong winds today, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Office. The bulletin, categorized as “orange” level vigilance, indicates potentially hazardous weather conditions.
The affected provinces include Tlemcen, Mostaganem, Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Medea, Blida, Ain Defla, Tissemsilt, Mascara, Relizane, and the northern regions of Tiaret and Saida. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
The meteorological office forecasts rainfall amounts ranging from 20 to 40 millimeters. The advisory is in effect from 1:00 AM to 3:00 PM today, Thursday.
