The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Sadawi, presided over a national conference via video conference from the ministry headquarters in Algiers on Wednesday evening. The conference, attended by central administration officials and a number of education directors, focused on several critical issues to ensure the smooth functioning of the educational process.
Key discussion points included monitoring student attendance amidst adverse weather conditions affecting certain provinces. The Minister emphasized the importance of regular field visits to educational institutions to guarantee adequate heating and the completion of necessary renovations. He also stressed the need for close coordination with local authorities to ensure school transportation and the continued provision of hot meals, particularly in remote areas.
A significant portion of the conference was dedicated to the ongoing teacher recruitment competition. The Minister underscored the necessity for education directors to directly oversee file review committees and monitor all published information to prevent any conflicting data. He emphasized strict adherence to established criteria and the prompt referral of problematic cases to the central administration for review in coordination with the Public Service Department.
Regarding pre-integration training, the Minister clarified that its duration has been reduced to the minimum necessary while maintaining a focus on quality to ensure its objectives are met. He called for the provision of all suitable conditions to facilitate the success of this process and enable teachers to benefit from the advantages of their new positions. The Minister also cautioned against the dangers of fake pages impersonating education directorates, directing the swift verification of official pages to ensure the credibility of published information.
Concluding the conference, the Minister reiterated the importance of establishing partnerships at the provincial level with the Algerian Muslim Scouts. This collaboration aims to utilize educational institutions during weekends and official holidays for supplementary programs designed to enhance the educational process for students.
