Saudi Arabia Leads Global Humanitarian Aid with $143 Billion Commitment

Saudi Arabia stands as a leading contributor to global humanitarian and development efforts, with documented contributions exceeding $143 billion. This information, released by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Algeria, highlights the Kingdom’s significant role in providing assistance to nations worldwide.

The documented humanitarian and development projects, totaling $143.28 billion, have benefited 173 countries, according to internationally recognized platforms. These contributions are meticulously recorded and verified through established international mechanisms.

Reports indicate substantial financial assistance provided in recent years. For instance, in 2025, Saudi Arabia contributed $2.03 billion in humanitarian aid, representing 8.5% of total global funding. Significant portions of this aid were directed towards critical regions, with $656.8 million allocated to Yemen and $341.6 million designated for Syria.

Furthermore, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Development Assistance Committee (OECD DAC) reported that Saudi Arabia provided $5.553 billion in development assistance in 2024. This figure equates to 0.45% of the Kingdom’s gross national income, demonstrating a substantial commitment to long-term development initiatives.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy emphasized that these contributions are part of a broader commitment to international humanitarian action and collaboration with relevant organizations.
