Algiers, January 22, 2026 – A delegation from the Russian State Duma continued its official visit to Algeria today with a meeting at the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI). The delegation was received by Rania Touni, Acting Director of Staff at AAPI, along with senior agency officials.
The meeting provided a platform for extensive discussions on Algeria’s investment climate, with particular emphasis on the incentives and facilities offered under the new investment law. Agency representatives detailed AAPI’s role in supporting and guiding investors through the various stages of project development.
The discussions also served as an opportunity for an exchange of views on ways to promote and strengthen economic cooperation between Algeria and Russia. Both sides expressed a commitment to fostering deeper ties and unlocking the full potential of their economic partnership.
Members of the Russian parliamentary delegation emphasized the importance and effectiveness of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting and strengthening the economic dimension of bilateral relations. They voiced their desire to elevate economic cooperation to match the level of the excellent political relations enjoyed by the two countries.
The Russian delegation raised a series of questions concerning the agency’s operations and put forward suggestions aimed at supporting and activating economic cooperation between Algeria and Russia. These suggestions focused on streamlining processes, facilitating information exchange, and identifying new areas for joint ventures.
Following the meeting at AAPI, the Duma delegation visited the University of Algiers, further solidifying the ties between the two nations across various sectors.
This visit underscores the commitment of both Algeria and Russia to strengthening their economic partnership and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
