Algerian Parliament Speaker Meets Slovenian Ambassador

Algiers – The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), Ibrahim Boughali, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Algeria, Urška Klampfer Mandeljc, today. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations, according to a statement from the APN.

During the meeting, Boughali emphasized the “deep historical ties that bind Algeria and Slovenia,” stressing the need to continue working to develop and elevate these relations. He particularly highlighted the importance of “enhancing parliamentary cooperation and intensifying economic and trade exchanges, to match the available potential and the mutual interests of both countries.”

The Speaker also referenced the visit of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Slovenia last year, which he described as “a pivotal moment that significantly contributed to giving a strong impetus to relations between the two countries and opened promising prospects for strengthening joint cooperation in various fields,” the statement added.

On the parliamentary front, the APN Speaker affirmed “the readiness of the Algerian legislative institution to support all initiatives aimed at expanding areas of cooperation and strengthening coordination and dialogue between the parliaments of both countries.”

For her part, the Slovenian Ambassador praised the level of relations between the two countries, affirming her country’s desire to work towards “consolidating bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and parliamentary fields, reflecting the shared will of Algeria and Slovenia to build a solid and sustainable partnership,” according to the same statement.
