Civil Protection units responded to an emergency call at approximately 10:25 AM local time in the Mohamed Ziboukh neighborhood of Ain Bouziane, a municipality within the Sidi Mezghiche district. DZWatch urges residents to ensure proper ventilation when using heating appliances and to regularly inspect and maintain these systems to prevent similar tragedies. Carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless, making it difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Early detection and prompt action are crucial in preventing fatalities.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of carbon monoxide detectors in every home, particularly during the colder months when heating systems are in frequent use. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the specific circumstances surrounding this incident to determine if negligence played a role.
