Exploring the Delay in Delivering Algeria’s 2024 Finance Bill to the Specialized Committee

The delay in delivering the 2024 Finance Bill to the specialized committee in the Algerian National People’s Assembly was recently elucidated by the committee’s chairperson, Saad Baghija. Delivery of Algeria’s 2024 Finance Bill.

During a press conference following the project’s endorsement, Baghija revealed that the bill, initially scheduled for delivery on October 7, was only submitted on October 30.

Baghija emphasized the “sacrifices” made by the committee and deputies to discuss the Finance Bill within a tight deadline of only 47 days. He attributed the delay to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s meticulous attention to the bill, highlighting a ministerial committee’s reevaluation of key details.

Speaking about the bill, Baghija noted its social character, with 82% of its articles focusing on the social aspects pertinent to Algerians. The remaining 18% is dedicated to other investment areas.
