Algeria Establishes Joint Committee to Monitor Mining Sector Development

Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, along with the President of the National Economic, Social, and Environmental Council, Sidi Mohamed Bouchenak Khalladi, chaired a coordination meeting focused on advancing the mining sector in Algeria, following the directives of the President of the Republic, Development of Mining Sector in Algeria.

According to a statement from the ministry, it was decided to enhance cooperation and intensify consultations between the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the National Economic, Social, and Environmental Council. This collaboration aims to ensure effective implementation of initiatives through the formation of a joint committee responsible for monitoring and evaluating the execution of agreed measures and engaging in regular consultations for effective coordination.

During this meeting, which was attended by officials from both the ministry and the council, the current state of the mining sector in Algeria was discussed. The discussions highlighted the existing potential and challenges that need to be addressed.

The talks also focused on strategies and plans intended to stimulate investment in the mining sector, aligning with national objectives.
