M’SILA, Algeria – A major traffic accident occurred this morning in M’Sila province, resulting in numerous injuries. A passenger bus overturned on National Route 46 near the city of M’Sila, causing widespread concern among local authorities and emergency services.
The incident took place on a stretch of the N46 highway leading towards Djelfa province, specifically in the Tellilat area within the municipality of Selim, near Djebel Messaad district. The bus, which was travelling on the Adrar-Setif route, reportedly overturned for reasons currently under investigation.
According to a statement released by the Civil Protection services, the accident resulted in injuries to 23 individuals. The injured, whose ages range from 16 to 66 years old, sustained various wounds and contusions described as minor. Emergency responders were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
First aid was administered to the injured at the site of the accident before they were transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident. In the meantime, road users are urged to exercise caution, especially on national roads experiencing heavy traffic. Drivers are reminded to adhere to speed limits and maintain a safe following distance to prevent future incidents.
