Recent adverse weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and flooding, have led to the closure of several roads across multiple provinces in Algeria. The National Gendarmerie has issued warnings and advises travelers to exercise extreme caution and avoid affected routes.
Tizi Ouzou and Bouira: The National Route 33, connecting Tizi Ouzou and Bouira, is closed in both directions. The affected area is near Assoul in the municipality of Ait Boumahdi, due to heavy snow accumulation.
Bouira: Within Bouira province itself, National Route 33 is also impassable near Akoukar in the municipality of Bechloul, again due to significant snowdrifts.
Djelfa: In Djelfa, National Route 01A, which links Djelfa and Laghouat, is closed at the Oued El Mett bridge in the municipality of Hassi Bahbah. This closure is attributed to rising water levels.
Blida and Tipaza: The Provincial Road 110, connecting Blida and Tipaza, is closed at the Ben Hamdani center in the municipality of Ben Khelil, also due to flooding.
Tlemcen: National Route 22, between the municipalities of Tirni and Sebdou in Tlemcen province, is closed near the village of Tel Tirni in the municipality of Tirni. The cause is attributed to increased water levels.
Relizane and Mostaganem: Provincial Road 52, linking Relizane and Mostaganem, is closed near Douar Essalehia in the municipality of Beni Zentis due to flooding.
The National Gendarmerie urges all road users to remain vigilant, avoid closed routes, and adhere to all safety instructions. Travelers are also advised to stay updated on the latest road conditions through official channels. Safety is paramount during these challenging weather conditions.
