DZWatch has received reports from meteorological services issuing a warning for heavy snowfall across several inland regions of Algeria. The alert remains in effect until 12:00 PM today.
The warning specifically mentions snowfall on elevations exceeding 1000 to 1100 meters. Regions affected include the highlands of Blida, Medea, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, and Bejaia. Snow accumulation is expected to range between 5 and 10 centimeters in these areas.
Furthermore, the meteorological services have cautioned about snowfall in the highlands of Tlemcen and Sidi Bel Abbes. In these western regions, snow depths could reach between 5 and 15 centimeters.
The advisory also extends to areas in the north and central parts of the country. Higher elevations in Naama, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Saida, northern El Bayadh, Laghouat, and Djelfa are also forecast to receive snowfall. Accumulation is expected to be between 5 and 10 centimeters, according to the issued bulletin.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution while driving in snowy conditions.
