President Tebboune instructed the Prime Minister to rigorously monitor the implementation of the Council of Ministers’ and government decisions. The council approved an exceptional subsidy of 10 million centimes towards the cost of the 2026 Hajj, reducing the total cost to 82 million centimes from 92 million.

Regarding the Oued Amizour zinc and lead mine, the President emphasized the need for the project to commence in March 2026, highlighting its potential to create jobs and stimulate economic development at both the local and national levels.

The Council stressed that investment in mines is part of a strategic vision to build new resources for the national economy. The Minister of Public Works is required to submit a monthly progress report on the mining railway project. Completion of the works is targeted for the end of 2026, with the project expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2027. The pace of progress must be accelerated with continuous work.

Coordination between the public works, interior, transport sectors, and the foreign partner must be strengthened to complete the mining pier in the port of Annaba by the end of 2026, as part of the strategy to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on hydrocarbons.

The roadmap for the fishing industry in 2026 prioritizes maritime fishing and aquaculture as national priorities to enhance food security.
