The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a program to facilitate the return of Algerian citizens residing abroad under irregular or precarious circumstances. This initiative follows a decision by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune aimed at providing a pathway for citizens facing legal or administrative issues related to minor offenses.
The program specifically targets individuals who are subject to legal or administrative proceedings stemming from minor infractions related to public order or similar incidents. The Ministry stated that those eligible can regularize their status and return to Algeria in an organized manner.
Eligible citizens are encouraged to contact Algerian diplomatic and consular missions in their country of residence to submit applications and the required documentation to benefit from this measure. A key condition for participation in the program is a commitment to refrain from repeating the actions that led to their initial legal or administrative issues.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting and protecting the Algerian diaspora. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to addressing the concerns of Algerian citizens living abroad, in accordance with the instructions of the highest authorities in the country.
The government hopes this program will allow many Algerians to return home and contribute positively to the nation’s future. Further details and application procedures can be obtained from Algerian embassies and consulates worldwide.
