Algiers – Algeria’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Baddari, inaugurated the nation’s first unified university service window today, January 26, 2026, at the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene in Bab Ezzouar.
This initiative, implemented across three university institutions, is in line with a ministerial decree aimed at establishing single-window services. The pilot program’s goal is to streamline administrative procedures and enhance the quality of services provided to students, professors, and researchers.
The single window aims to consolidate various administrative tasks into one accessible point, reducing processing times and improving overall efficiency.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister also unveiled a specialized economic subsidiary of the Center for Physical and Chemical Analyses. This launch underscores the sector’s commitment to valuing scientific research, connecting it with the economic environment, and strengthening the university’s role as a key driver of development and innovation.
The Ministry of Higher Education emphasized that the unified window project is an integral part of the broader effort to digitize university administration. This digitization drive is expected to reduce delays, enhance transparency, and facilitate access to services for all university stakeholders within a single, organized platform.
Following an initial evaluation period, the experience is expected to be gradually extended to other national universities. This expansion aligns with the strategy of modernizing and updating the higher education system in Algeria.
