Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, El Aid Rabiega, affirmed on Thursday that Algeria’s steadfast positions on the Palestinian cause will be etched in history for generations to come. Speaking at the 35th anniversary event of the declaration of the State of Palestine in Algeria, Minister Rabiega highlighted the historical and geographical significance of this declaration, drawing parallels with the epic achievement of Algeria’s November 1954 Revolution as a dignified path to overcoming injustice and liberating people and nations.

Rabiega emphasized, “Algeria considers the Palestinian people and their ongoing revolution an integral part of our nation’s destiny,” praising the unwavering positions expressed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in international and regional forums against the brutal occupation and calling for an end to Zionist aggression.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Algeria, Fayez Abu Aita, recalled the momentous declaration of the State of Palestine led by the late Yasser Arafat, considering Algeria the birthplace of the Palestinian revolution. “From Algeria, we pledge to continue the path of martyrs and persist in our march towards liberation and return,” he stated.

Ambassador Abu Aita also lauded President Tebboune’s stance against Western attempts to criminalize the Palestinian struggle, quoting him saying, “The Palestinian people are not terrorists and will never be.”

The conference’s concluding statement reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and unconditional support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The statement also called for support of President Tebboune’s proposal to form an international commission to investigate specified crimes and bring Zionist war criminals to the International Criminal Court.

Furthermore, the conference stressed the need to continue efforts to protect occupied Palestine, its holy sites, and defend it against rejected and condemned attempts by the occupation to alter its demographic, Arab-Islamic identity, and its existing legal and historical status.
