Algiers – Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), received a delegation from the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus in Algiers today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Mr. Kosiugin Ruslan, Head of the Task Force for Cooperation with the Algerian Parliament. The meeting, held at the APN headquarters, focused on strengthening parliamentary relations and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation between Algeria and Belarus.
During the discussions, Speaker Boughali emphasized the importance of fostering closer ties between the two legislative bodies to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices. He highlighted Algeria’s commitment to developing strong partnerships with countries that share its vision for regional stability and economic development.
Mr. Kosiugin Ruslan, in turn, expressed Belarus’s keen interest in deepening its relationship with Algeria, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and technology transfer. He acknowledged Algeria’s growing role as a key player in the African continent and expressed confidence that increased cooperation would benefit both nations.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to working together to promote peace, security, and prosperity in their respective regions. Further discussions are planned to identify specific areas of collaboration and to implement concrete measures to strengthen bilateral ties. The visit of the Belarusian delegation underscores the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering international understanding and cooperation.
