The General Directorate of Civil Protection has released a report on the general situation following the weather fluctuations experienced in several provinces across the country. As of 11:00 PM last night, Civil Protection units had intervened in multiple regions due to the atmospheric disturbances.
In the municipality of Mohamed Belouizdad in Algiers, a woman was treated and transported to the hospital with a minor head injury after a piece of concrete fell from a room’s ceiling. In the municipality of Douera, services intervened to pump out accumulated rainwater in the El Kedouania – Dekakna neighborhood, while also addressing valley water leakage in the Jarman neighborhood of Zeralda.
In Chlef province, Civil Protection teams worked to pump rainwater from a residence in the Maghraoui and Ouled Mohamed neighborhoods. Similar operations were carried out in the municipality of El Amra in Ain Defla province, where water was cleared from the entrances of four buildings in the El Mostakbal neighborhood.
In the municipalities of Sidi Lakhdar and El Abadia, rainwater was pumped from homes and streets in the Zaouia Ben Chergui and Sidi Ammar neighborhoods. In the municipality of Ben Daoud, located in Bordj Bou Arreridj province, authorities recorded the collapse of a garage wall in the village of Ain El Noug following heavy rainfall, though no casualties were reported.
Furthermore, security surveillance measures were implemented at the Ouled Sidi Mahmoud bridge in M’Sila province following the partial opening of the valves at the Ksob Dam.
