Members of the US Congress praised Algeria’s role and its pioneering experience in counter-terrorism during a discussion and hearing session dedicated to security in North Africa and the Sahel region.
The members of Congress highlighted that Algerian-American cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism constitutes a positive axis of collaboration, and that regional security and confronting extremist groups remain a realistic and necessary area for bilateral partnership.
They also praised the Algerian role in counter-terrorism as effective and based on field expertise and accumulated experience. Congress noted that Algeria is considered a stabilizing factor in North Africa and the Sahel thanks to its historical experience in confronting terrorism.
