The security services of Oran province, represented by the Search and Intervention Squad, have dismantled a criminal network active in drug trafficking.
According to a statement from the security services, the operation resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of treated cannabis, estimated at 45 kg, and the arrest of four individuals involved in the case.
Based on confirmed information regarding a network member transporting a quantity of drugs in a vehicle for a sale, and following careful surveillance of the suspect’s movements, he was intercepted. A quantity of 5 kg of treated cannabis was found inside the vehicle, and he was transferred to the competent department for an in-depth investigation.
Squad investigators were able to identify the remaining members of the network and the residence used for storing the drugs.
After completing the necessary legal procedures and in coordination with the Public Prosecutor at the Es Senia Court, a raid was carried out. This led to the arrest of the remaining suspects and the seizure of an additional 40 kg of treated cannabis, along with a sum of money totaling 28 million centimes from trafficking proceeds.
Legal proceedings were initiated against the detainees on charges related to the felony of importing, possessing, storing, transporting, distributing, and trafficking drugs within an organized transnational criminal group. They also face charges of money laundering and smuggling, acts that pose a serious threat to the national economy and public health. The individuals were presented before the competent judicial authorities and placed in custody.
