Oil prices closed down by more than one percent at the end of trading on Tuesday. Brent crude futures fell 69 cents, or 1.1 percent, to reach $61.07 per barrel at settlement.
The price of U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude also dropped 79 cents, or 1.4 percent, recording $57.53 at settlement.
