The National Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Information and Communication Technology-Related Crimes revealed on Wednesday a plan to undermine the country’s stability.
In a statement, the authority informed the public that following technical investigations by its specialized services, it identified the online publication of subversive content through pages and accounts on social media platforms.
The authority explained that these accounts and pages belong to individuals residing abroad, specifically in Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada, who are known for their hostility toward Algeria and its institutions. These entities are inciting Algerian merchants to go on strike on Thursday, January 8, 2026, with the aim of compromising the country’s stability.
